It's been two years since Leeanda Reddy first joined Isidingo as Detective Inspector Priyanka Naicker. Leeanda began her TV career presenting magazine show Big City, and later, Citylife. She went on to star in Zero Tolerance and Backstage, and played Scandal! reporter Vanashree Devan for two years. We adored her as the beautiful Reshmi in Mr Bones 2 – but tvplus wanted to find out more about the real Leeanda when we chatted to her.
What's your full name?

Where were you born and raised?
In Chatsworth and Phoenix in Durban.

Reader question: Joyce Motshabi of Limpopo says she's your biggest fan, and wants to know how you got into entertainment after matric.
I matriculated at Crystal Point Secondary school in Durban, then studied drama at the University of KZN and did a BA Honours in Speech and Drama. I started auditioning and did theatre productions in Durban before moving to Johannesburg. I got on the books of an acting agent, went for auditions, and slowly built up my profile in the screen industry.
What was your first acting experience?
My very first was reciting the poem Rainbow Fairies in a speech contest in grade one: “Two little clouds, one summer's day, went flying through the sky. They went so fast they bumped their heads, and both began to cry . . .” Later that year, I played the role of Pinocchio.
